Presale Engineer Internship

About the Internship

A Presale Engineer helps the client understand what cybersecurity solution they need and why. It's a role at the intersection of technology, business, and communication: you understand the client's task, select the appropriate solution, and explain it in simple terms.

The internship lasts 14 weeks:

• 6 weeks of training under a student agreement;
• 8 weeks of internship under a fixed-term employment contract;
• after successful completion — an opportunity to join the company as a Junior Presale Engineer.

The program combines training, practice on a training stand, and work with real cases.

You will learn from product managers, lead presale engineers, and architects — specialists who handle real deals and show how client interaction works.

You will study:

• computer networks, Linux, Windows, and Active Directory;
• basics of information security and Russian regulations;
• attack and defense practices;
• the company's product portfolio;
• presale skills: working with requirements, solution preparation, argumentation, and defense.

Practice will begin from the first weeks:

• analysis of anonymized client requests;
• laboratory work on a training stand;
• participation in the preparation of technical specifications and commercial proposals;
• analysis of real anonymized cases: what was proposed, what worked, and where mistakes were made.

After a milestone assessment, you will be able to attend client meetings and gradually get involved in discussions.

By the end of the program, you will be able to independently lead part of a meeting and defend a final end-to-end case before a commission: from qualifying needs to defending the solution.

Throughout the journey, you will have a personal mentor, weekly feedback, and access to the expertise of the cyber threat research center and the monitoring center.

This internship is for you if you want to develop in information security and are ready to combine learning with practice in real presale tasks.

Main Requirements:

• you are a 3rd–5th year student or recently graduated from a technical university;
• you are at least 18 years old;
• you live in Moscow or the Moscow region;
• you are ready to work at least 20 hours per week;
• willing to come to the office on Nikitsky.

A relevant field of study will be a plus: information or computer security, computer science and engineering, software engineering, applied informatics, communication networks and telecommunications, automated control systems, system administration.

Important at the start:

• understanding the basics of computer networks: OSI, TCP/UDP, IP addressing, DNS;
• confident navigation in Windows;
• understanding why a terminal is needed in Linux;
• knowledge of basic information security concepts: confidentiality, integrity, availability, identification, authentication, authorization;
• ability to find answers in documentation;
• ability to explain technical topics in simple terms.

An additional advantage will be understanding: Active Directory, virtualization, Wireshark, Nmap, PowerShell, Git, as well as participation in activities: CTF, TryHackMe, Hack The Box, home lab, GitHub projects, certificates, olympiads, experience in technical support or system administration, public speaking experience.

You don't need to know the entire stack at the start. We value learnability, interest in information security, the ability to find information, and easily explain complex things more.

Internship Format:

• employment — 20–40 hours per week, schedule is discussed considering your studies;
• hybrid format: 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely; agreed individually;
• office — on Nikitsky;
• company equipment for the duration of the program;
• assistance with processing internship practice for the university.

Selection and Program Stages:

1. Online testing and video interview (VCV);
2. Interview with heads of departments;
3. 6 weeks of training;
4. 8 weeks of internship under a fixed-term employment contract for candidates who have successfully completed training;
5. Offer and transition to the team upon completion of the program.

Apply by September 9th inclusive: we plan to start training at the end of September, and employment based on program results in November.

Before the selection process, it's advisable to refresh basic cyber literacy, technical English, information search skills, and the ability to work with a large volume of materials.

After successfully completing the program, you can join the company as a Junior Presale Engineer.
