Hello everyone! 👋 International fintech company Paysonix is looking for a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) & Legal Counsel. Paysonix is an international fintech company that provides payment processing solutions. The company is currently undergoing the process of obtaining an EMI license in Cyprus, therefore we are looking for someone to lead the compliance function and support the licensing process.

Your responsibilities will include: • Supporting the acquisition of an EMI license and interacting with the Central Bank of Cyprus; • Building and developing AML/CFT, KYC/KYB, sanctions compliance, and transaction monitoring; • Establishing a risk management and internal control function; • Supporting regulatory audits and inspections; • Assessing new products and markets from a compliance perspective; • Overseeing key legal matters and agreements with banks, acquirers, Visa/Mastercard, and partners; • Gradually building a compliance / AML / risk / legal team.

What is especially important to us: • 8+ years of experience in compliance and/or financial legal; • 3+ years of responsibility for a compliance function; • Mandatory practical experience in a licensed EMI or payment company; • Experience with licensing by an EU/EEA regulator; • Practical experience in AML/KYC, sanctions, and transaction monitoring; • Experience interacting with financial regulators; • Higher legal education; • English C1/C2; • Willingness to be regularly present in Cyprus. Experience with the CBC, setting up a compliance function from scratch, and ACAMS / ICA / CAMS certifications will be a plus. We will provide more details about the role during the interview.
