Lawyer

‼️ Office work, Cyprus, Limassol ‼️ We are looking for a lawyer with experience in financial companies/MFIs, who will provide legal and compliance support for a launch in a new market.

Responsibilities:

monitoring and analysis of South African legislation in the microfinance sector (National Credit Act, requirements of the National Credit Regulator); preparation and verification of legal documentation: loan agreements, public offers, rules for granting loans, accompanying documentation; compliance support: tracking changes in legislation and adapting the company's internal processes to local requirements; support of AML/KYC processes: development and control of internal client identification and verification procedures; support of personal data protection issues in accordance with POPIA (South African Protection of Personal Information Act); legal support for interaction with banks, payment systems, and other partners; participation in the support of corporate company matters; consulting management and related departments (risk, debt collection, finance) on legal issues.

Requirements:

work experience with financial companies (FC), MFIs, or other financial institutions from 1 year; practical experience in AML/KYC; understanding of personal data protection principles; experience in preparing and verifying contracts; ability to make independent decisions and work with a large volume of documentation; readiness to work exclusively on one project, without combining with others.

Will be an advantage:

knowledge of South African legislation in the microfinance sector; experience working with foreign jurisdictions and international financial law.
