REMOTE | UPFORGE.GAMES
UpForge.Games is a young game studio. We are currently working on a hardcore co-op shooter in a popular universe with an emphasis on realism, intense gameplay, and atmosphere.
We are looking for a VFX Artist to join our team. We need someone who can not only assemble effects according to technical specifications, but can also independently understand the task, find references, propose a solution, assemble and configure the effect, and then work closely with the team to bring it to the final result in the game.
🎮 What you will be doing
- Creating realistic VFX in Unreal Engine 5 using Niagara for weapons, characters, combat mechanics, and environment.
- Owning effects from concept and references to the final visual and technical result.
- Working with materials, shaders, textures, and other VFX assets.
- Configuring and optimizing effects so that they look good not only individually, but also directly in gameplay.
- Working closely with the Art, Game Design, Animation, and Development teams to correctly integrate effects into the game and bring them to the desired result.
- Proposing your own artistic and technical solutions and helping to shape the overall visual language of the project's effects.
💻 What is important to us
- 3+ years of experience as a VFX Artist in the game industry.
- Confident work with Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara.
- Good understanding of Materials, shaders, real-time VFX, and optimization.
- Ability to independently manage tasks and bring effects to the desired artistic and technical quality.
- Good sense of scale, timing, dynamics, and readability of effects in gameplay.
- Strong portfolio / showreel with in-game VFX.
We are especially interested in seeing realistic combat effects: shooting, hits, smoke, fire, destruction, blood, environmental effects, and other examples from real gameplay.
⭐️ Bonus points
- Experience with Houdini.
- Ability to work with Blueprints and independently assemble simple game logic around effects.
