Technical Artist in Unreal Engine

What we expect from the candidate:

• Portfolio demonstrating previous work in UE, especially in AA or AAA level projects.
• Understanding and experience with the core aspects of Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprints, materials, lighting, and animation.
• Understanding of content development pipelines for UE5: ability to create content independently and optimize it, regardless of type.
• Experience with performance profiling tools (UnrealInsights, RenderDoc).
• Experience optimizing art content and understanding the main bottlenecks in the graphics pipeline concerning that content.
• Experience with 3D modeling packages (DCC) (Maya and/or Blender).
• Knowledge of Photoshop (or equivalents) and understanding of nuances of working with textures and images within UE5.
• Experience creating tools and systems using Blueprints.
• Solid knowledge of the Material Graph system.
• Minimal understanding of Niagara principles.

Bonus points for:

• Ability to work with Debug mode and console commands for identifying performance issues and fixing artifacts.
• Knowledge of C++ and experience writing systems and plugins for UE5 in C++.
• Knowledge and experience in using Lumen, Nanite, Level Streaming.
• Excellent knowledge of Zbrush, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, or Houdini FX.
• Experience creating complex visual effects and/or systems using Niagara and/or Compute Shaders.
• Understanding of how game components work together, including game levels, UI, and AI.

Tasks to be performed:

• Develop and improve pipelines for optimizing 3D content, materials, and effects.
• Develop new visual and software solutions to improve internal development processes and content quality.
• Identify and resolve performance issues.
• Train and guide other artists and developers in using UE5, Houdini, Blender, etc.
• Propose new ideas and solutions to enhance project quality and originality.
