YDB is a distributed, fault-tolerant, open-source relational database that combines high availability, scalability, and performance. Together with its accompanying stack of serverless technologies, YDB enables the organization of a data storage and processing system for the most complex and demanding applications.

YDB is also a platform for creating infrastructure components. We offer users not only reliable transactions over tables but also ready-made solutions based on the engine itself: persistent queues, federated queries, network drives for virtual machines (Yandex Network Block Store), and more.

YDB is used in Market, Taxi, Bank, Alice, and other Yandex services. We already handle millions of requests per second and reliably store petabytes of data. Solutions built on YDB include delivering payment data to Yandex billing and storing logs in Yandex Cloud.

Our team develops the Yandex Query cloud service and the federated query engine in YDB. Yandex Query is designed for analyzing data in Object Storage and streaming data from the Yandex Data Streams bus using SQL queries. The closest analogues to our service are: AWS Athena, Microsoft Azure, Apache Flink, Google Cloud Dataflow.

We expect you to

• Have more than three years of experience writing in C++
• Know basic algorithms and data structures
• Understand the multithreading paradigm, be familiar with the main approaches, problems, and limitations in this area

• Experience working with virtualization and containerization systems (k8s), high-load distributed systems, or other cloud or serverless platforms
