App&Web is the unit owner of Dodo Pizza's global application and website. We not only implement significant changes to the customer experience but also develop a customer experience center of expertise by refining the hypothesis testing process and launching user research.
Our unit consists of several cross-functional feature teams, each developing its own domain. Each team has all the necessary functions to create a great product: Android, iOS, Backend, QA, Design, and Product Analytics.
We are looking for an Android Developer for the core team of the Dodo mobile application.
The core team's responsibilities include:
- Architectural tasks;
- Technical preparation for launching product initiatives and preparing tools for other teams;
- Projects affecting the entire application;
- Ownership of integrations (third-party SDKs) within the application;
- Technical monitoring;
- Technical development of applications, defining the tech stack;
- Assisting product teams with technical issues.
The entire mobile application is the core team's domain. The team dives into all parts of the system, requiring rapid adaptation and extensive communication with service owners and engineers from other teams.
We expect
- A desire to create a high-quality product, not just write code;
- Deep knowledge of the Android SDK, including Fragment frameworks and Jetpack Compose;
- Proficiency in Kotlin, including Kotlin Coroutines, and the ability to use them effectively;
- Experience in organizing layered architecture in an application, understanding the MVVM pattern, and knowing how to effectively break down an application into modules;
- The ability to decompose tasks and provide realistic estimates;
- Timely identification of risks and maintaining transparency in the process for the team;
- The ability to see features through to completion: release, feature toggles, monitoring, and impact verification through metrics;
- Teamwork skills, ability to justify decisions and take initiative;
- Planning your work to allow sufficient time for QA testing.
It will be a plus if you:
- Write tests (e.g., unit, UI, or screenshot tests);
- Know how to set up CI/CD;
- Understand how to work with feature toggles, A/B tests, and product analytics;
- Use AI tools (Cursor / Copilot / Claude Code) in practice.
Your responsibilities will include
Main tasks:
- Participate in planning and designing new features for the mobile application;
- Design feature architecture considering scalability, fault tolerance, and monitoring;
- Maintain the reliability of the critical path and promptly address incidents;
- Support features after launch: metrics, logging, observability, analytics;
- Work in a cross-functional team comprising tech leads from various functions, developers, and QA.
Examples of recent team tasks:
- Ensured the application's critical flow works under any internet connectivity limitations;
- Prepared infrastructure for AI agents;
- Integrated AI agents into our CI pipelines (code review, impact analysis);
- Developed an LLM factory to handle tasks without developer intervention;
- Migrated the mobile CI to a different vendor;
- Redesigned the omnichannel analytics sending system across the entire application;
- Launched the migration of the entire application to MVVM and Compose;
- Implemented UI test writing into the development process for new features across all product teams;
- Introduced the patch release process.
Future plans:
- Migrate mobile application logs from the current logger to OpenTelemetry;
- Integrate a new service for conducting A/B tests;
- Prepare the application for weekly releases.
We offer
- Work on a product used by millions of users in 25 countries;
- A team that respects engineers and gives them a voice;
- Significant autonomy and trust, combined with a high quality bar;
- Absence of bureaucracy and KPIs. Only the goal matters;
- Funding for professional training, conference tickets, and necessary books;
- Assistance with preparing public speeches, and development as an article author;
- Partial compensation for English language courses at Skyeng and psychology sessions at Alter;
- Voluntary medical insurance with dental coverage, from the first working day.
