Russian "mind reading" startup Neiry is looking for a Chief Product Officer.
Neiry is a Russian flagship in neurotechnology, creating products at the intersection of neuroscience, hardware, software, medicine, wellness, and artificial intelligence. The company develops neuromodulation, neurointerfaces, brain signal analysis, medical R&D projects, and brings products to the Russian and international markets.
They are looking for a CPO who will take full responsibility for the strategy and P&L of a portfolio of consumer non-invasive hardware-software products for B2C and B2B. This is a role for a leader who knows how to connect user value, physical product, software and firmware, scientific expertise, and business economics — from the initial hypothesis to launch, scaling, or timely product sunset.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Full responsibility for the product strategy and P&L of the consumer hardware-software product portfolio for B2C and B2B.
- Building a systematic process for generating and validating product hypotheses for non-invasive consumer hardware-software products: from idea and prototype to a secure financial model and go-to-market strategy.
- Understanding a clear methodology for making go/no-go/kill decisions on products at different stages of maturity.
- Ensuring verification of user value, form factor, and key scenarios before costly investments in industrial design and mass production.
- Forming and developing a product marketing team, increasing the maturity of hardware + software + firmware development management processes.
- Close interaction with the group's R&D, engineering, and medical teams to transfer expertise between medical and consumer products.
- Managing user, marketing, and financial metrics throughout the product lifecycle and making data-driven decisions.
- Participating in preparing products for international markets: certification, localization, partnerships, and distribution.
Candidate Expectations:
- At least 6 years of experience as CPO / Head of Product / VP Product.
- At least 3 years of personal experience managing hardware-software products: device + software / application + firmware.
- Proven track record of launching a consumer hardware product from scratch to sales, including form factor, industrial design, UX research, software, and market launch for B2C and B2B products.
- Deep understanding of the economics of a physical product: prototyping, components, batch production, cost of changes, and limitations of mass production.
- Experience in building and defending business models and product financial models to investors, the CEO, or the board of directors.
- Experience in creating a product process and hypothesis testing methodology in a company that previously lacked a systematic approach.
- Practice in making complex product decisions, including restructuring, managed product sunsetting, and managing reputational risks.
- Experience in hiring and developing product teams, with the ability to improve their maturity and decision-making quality.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build working relationships with diverse professional groups: engineers, doctors, scientists, financiers, commercial teams, and top management.
- English language proficiency sufficient for working with international suppliers, markets, and professional literature.
Will be an advantage:
- Experience with products at the intersection of medical devices and consumer wellness, and understanding of regulatory constraints.
- Experience bringing a hardware product to international markets: certification, localization, and distribution.
- Engineering or hardware development background, allowing for substantive work with the R&D team.
- Experience interacting with manufacturing partners and component suppliers, including those in China.
- Experience in consumer electronics, wearables, smart devices, digital health, or related product ecosystems.
Conditions:
- Official employment under the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.
- Salary is discussed based on interview results and depends on experience and competencies.
- Office-based work format.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:00 to 19:00.
- C-level position reporting directly to the CEO and interacting with the group's board of directors.
- Full responsibility for product strategy, portfolio, and team under own management.
- Opportunity to create a new product category at the intersection of neuroscience, hardware, software, medicine, wellness, and AI.
