๐ฏ About the project
A product IT company is developing high-load services for major world-class online entertainment platforms. The Lead Python Developer will join the infrastructure department and be responsible for the software part of the platform: backend services and tools for managing data storage and processing infrastructure, automating provisioning, and integrating internal and external systems into a single platform.
The role combines hands-on development and technical leadership: it is necessary to set the technical direction, build development processes, form, and develop a team of Python developers. The specialist will work side-by-side with SysOps teams, building CI/CD, deployment, and service observability with DevOps, as well as participating in the department's technical planning and interacting with related teams.
๐ผ Responsibilities
- Design the architecture and develop backend services for managing data storage and processing infrastructure;
- Be responsible for the technical quality of the area: code reviews, development standards, testing, documentation;
- Form and develop a team of Python developers: participate in hiring, mentoring, assigning and decomposing tasks;
- Integrate internal and external systems within the platform, design APIs (REST/gRPC);
- Create custom tools for managing data flows and automating infrastructure processes;
- Together with DevOps, build CI/CD, deployment, and service observability (metrics, logs, alerting);
- Participate in the department's technical planning, estimate timelines and risks, communicate with related teams.
๐ก Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial Python development experience, with 1-2 years in a team lead, tech lead, or lead developer role;
- Experience in designing and developing high-load distributed services;
- Deep knowledge of SQL and experience working with DBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.), understanding their internal workings and optimization;
- Proficient in UNIX systems and command line;
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes: building images, writing manifests/Helm charts, deploying services;
- Experience in building testing (unit, integration tests) and a culture of code reviews;
- Understanding of observability principles: metrics, logs, tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
๐ Will be a plus
- Experience with CI/CD (GitLab CI/CD);
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible, Infrastructure as Code approach;
- Working with message queues and data streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.);
- Secrets management (Vault, Sealed Secrets, External Secrets);
- Development experience in Java or Go.
