About Prysm
Prysm helps philanthropic leaders make bold investments that generate measurable impact for reproductive health, and beyond. Guided by data rather than ideology, our strategic advisory services empower philanthropists to invest in leading organizations, transformative programs, and breakthrough ideas uncovered by our global network of experts.
In simplest terms, we are a matchmaker connecting philanthropists to “investable opportunities” in reproductive health. We define investable opportunities as projects, programs, organizations, or big ideas that are poised for philanthropic investment. By listening to donors, as well as organizations working in reproductive health, we help align donors’ interests with the field’s greatest needs.
The Opportunity
A single well-told story can move millions of philanthropic dollars toward reproductive health. Prysm is looking for the writer who can find that story, turning dense concept notes and research into narratives that inspire donors to give. This role sits at the center of that work.
Prysm is seeking an exceptional writer and communications manager to support the development of donor-facing materials and content, including concept notes for reproductive health programs and organizations; two-pagers on reproductive health issues; case studies on exceptional grantee organizations; podcast content and interviews with reproductive health experts; and more.
This role is ideal for a strong writer who excels at synthesizing complex information into clear, compelling, and accessible narratives. The position will work closely with the Prysm team—specifically the VP of Engagement and the VP of Program Investments—to transform technical concept notes, strategy documents, research summaries, and grantee materials into polished communications products tailored to donors and other philanthropic stakeholders. They will also help drive communications strategy, ideating, launching, and managing new communications products and channels designed to increase brand awareness, educate donors, and ultimately drive more philanthropic funding toward reproductive health (for example, developing a podcast series featuring reproductive health experts, launching Prysm’s first newsletter, or identifying and managing strategic speaking opportunities for senior leadership at high-profile events).
The right candidate will be able to quickly understand nuanced subject matter, identify the core narrative and strategic relevance, and communicate it in a way that is engaging, concise, and easy to understand, without oversimplifying the underlying work. They will also be a strong and proactive project manager, able to juggle multiple priorities at once.
Key Responsibilities
For all tasks above, the candidate must:
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator who can move fluidly between technical content and donor-facing storytelling. They are intellectually curious, highly organized, and comfortable working across a wide range of topics related to global reproductive health, philanthropy, and broader social impact issues (such as democracy, education, climate, and more).
