C++ Backend Engineer

C++ engineer for a team developing a new search platform for all Yandex services from scratch.

Tasks:

• designing a new distributed search system
• developing search indexes, compression codecs, and compact data structures
• building an efficient runtime and indexing processes
• working with systems that store tens of petabytes of data, use hundreds of thousands of CPU cores, and process hundreds of millions of requests per second
• studying existing search projects and porting the best solutions to the common platform

Requirements:

• confident C++ and a desire to write in it
• good knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• deep understanding of multithreading
• experience with distributed systems

Conditions:

• full-time
