Hi all, we are hiring! We are looking for an Investment Manager to join our investment team in Almaty.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
A leading private investment holding. The portfolio spans real estate (including development), logistics and other sectors in Kazakhstan and abroad. All investments are in private markets: privately held companies, projects and funds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investment screening: independently prepare screening reports and investment memoranda (business and market analysis, financial model, preliminary valuation, risks, fit with the holding's investment criteria); maintain the register of opportunities.
- Market and industry research: analyse industries, markets, players, business models and international practices, covering both new directions and the sectors where the holding is already present; initial analysis of potential partners.
- Portfolio support: maintain the portfolio database, analyse financial data of portfolio companies, monitor KPIs and financial results, maintain the risk map, prepare portfolio reporting.
- Strategy and investment policy: contribute to the development of the holding's strategy and investment policy.
- Project management support: support the Head of Investments in running the holding's projects.
- Management materials: presentations and analytical notes for the CEO and the Investment Committee.
- Ad hoc assignments from the Head of Investments.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
- 6+ years in private equity, investment banking, Big 4 Deal Advisory, investment holdings or family offices, with a proven track record of analysing privately held companies and preparing investment materials.
Technical skills:
- Financial modelling.
- Valuation of privately held companies: discounted cash flow, multiples, comparable transactions.
- Financial statement analysis (IFRS).
- Industry and market analysis.
- Understanding of deal structures and core transaction documents.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- AI fluency: confident and responsible user of AI tools in analytical work, with critical review of the output.
Core competencies:
- Strong analytical ability: quickly learns and masters new subjects, and works equally well with limited data and with large volumes of data.
- Clear communication: conveys ideas concisely, with strong presentation skills.
- Ownership, accuracy with numbers, strict confidentiality.
Languages:
- Fluent Russian, Advanced English; Kazakh is an advantage.
An advantage:
- International professional certifications (CFA, ACCA or similar).
- Experience in real estate or logistics.
- Experience with portfolio management systems.
