Python AI Engineer
Company: KNOTA
Location: Worldwide
Work Format: Remote work, part-time
Salary: from 1000 to 2000 per hour
About the Project
We, KNOTA, are developing a service for AI image editing. The platform combines external APIs (NanoBanana, Replicate, etc.) and our own local models based on ComfyUI (Flux, Qwen, upscales, background removal, etc.). Currently, a working prototype is already in place: basic integration with ComfyUI is set up, several local models have been loaded, and external services are connected. Our goal is to build a scalable production architecture and further develop the service.
We are looking for a specialist who:
- Has experience with ComfyUI (or its analogs: InvokeAI, SD.Next) and building workflows for various image tasks
- Understands how to build a reliable production architecture around generative models
- Keeps up with modern AI trends, analyzes new tools and approaches, and proposes solutions for their integration into the product
- Is ready to take the current developments as a basis and build a proper infrastructure on their foundation
What you will do
- Develop and refine workflows for ComfyUI (and analogs)
- Create new scenarios for image generation and editing
- Adapt existing workflows to product tasks
- Develop server architecture
- Design a GPU core for working with ComfyUI
- Build a separate layer with queues and external APIs
- Configure interaction with the main backend server (where the business logic resides)
- Connect new external APIs and local models as they appear
- Track current AI trends
- Analyze new tools, models, and approaches
- Propose and justify solutions for their integration into the service
Skills
- AI / ComfyUI: Experience with ComfyUI (required), knowledge of InvokeAI, SD.Next, or similar systems is a plus; ability to build and configure workflows for various tasks; understanding of generative models (Flux, SDXL, Qwen, etc.); habit of keeping up with modern AI tools and innovations
- Python: Confident knowledge of Python 3.10+; experience with FastAPI (or a similar framework); asynchronous programming, typing
- Queues and Infrastructure: Redis + Celery / RQ / arq (required)
- Working with APIs and Data: HTTP, REST API, requests / httpx; JSON, structured data
- Images: Pillow; BytesIO, base64
Will be a plus
- Docker
- Inference optimization experience
- Experience with Replicate / Banana.dev / analogs
- GPU infrastructure setup skills
Conditions
- Remote
- Full-time or part-time – negotiable
How to apply: Write a few words about your experience with ComfyUI and workflow building. Including a link to GitHub / portfolio is welcome.
