🚀 Senior Linux / Proxmox / PBS DevOps — Infrastructure Audit, Backup, and Recovery

City and office address: Fully remote, candidate location is not important Work format: Remote Employment: Part-time / Project-based, hourly pay Salary range: from 25 to 50 $/hour (net) Hiring specifics: Russian-speaking engineer required. For the first stage, we work via screen sharing — the specialist explains the actions, and we perform or confirm them on our end. Direct access is discussed separately and only if necessary.

Job description: We are looking for an experienced DevOps / infrastructure engineer to work with a production infrastructure on Proxmox VE (several services, including web and telephony). We need a careful audit, check of backup processes, help with secure recovery/rebuilding of one problematic LXC container, and preparation of a practical plan for increasing reliability.

We need an engineer who first analyzes the situation, explains the risks, and documents the actions, and then makes changes — not just "install packages."

Tasks:

• Audit of Proxmox VE / LXC / storage infrastructure;
• Check of Proxmox Backup Server and current backup processes;
• Secure restore test in an isolated environment;
• Recovery / rebuilding of a problematic LXC container;
• Risk assessment of the current infrastructure;
• Recommendations for deletion-resistant / immutable / offsite backup;
• Basic security hardening without chaotic changes on production;
• Short written report: what was checked, what are the risks, what to do next.

Mandatory experience:

• Confident Linux administration;
• Practical experience with Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server;
• Working with LXC containers, troubleshooting and recovery of containers / VMs;
• Understanding of storage, filesystems, raw/qcow2 images;
• Experience with backup / restore tests;
• Careful work with production and the ability to explain risky actions before performing them.

Will be a plus: Asterisk / VoIP, Plesk, immutable backup, S3 Object Lock, ZFS snapshots, offsite backup, disaster recovery planning, security-sensitive cases.
