Senior AI Officer

JSC «Kazakhtelecom» is looking for a Senior AI Officer

We are looking for an experienced AI practitioner who can independently launch the first AI pilots, demonstrate rapid business results, and form a strategic vision for the development of AI in the business unit.

Format: office Salary: 1-2 million tenge (NET) City: Astana

Key Tasks • Formulate the AI strategy and roadmap for the business unit. • Identify the most promising areas for AI application. • Independently launch the first prototypes and AI pilots. • Quickly test hypotheses and demonstrate initial measurable results. • Create AI agents, RAG solutions, and AI automations. • Formulate and prioritize the AI initiative portfolio. • Together with the FDE and AI team, bring successful pilots to production and scaling. • Rethink business processes considering AI capabilities. • Work with business unit leaders and advocate for AI initiatives. • Monitor the development of AI technologies and apply new approaches in real business cases.

Requirements • 7+ years of professional experience in technologies, AI/ML, product development, or digital transformation. • Practical experience in launching AI/ML or technological products. • Strong understanding of LLMs, Generative AI, AI Agents, and RAG. • Ability to independently build a working AI prototype. • Product mindset and focus on quick results. • Strategic thinking and ability to form an AI roadmap. • Ability to connect technologies with specific business impact. • Experience working with managers and top management. • High level of independence and responsibility for results.

AI Tools and Technical Skills • Practical experience with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Qwen, or similar LLMs. • Working with LLM API, Prompt Engineering, Tool/Function Calling. • Creating AI agents using LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar tools. • Practical understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases. • Use of AI coding tools: Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar. • Python, REST API, SQL — at a level sufficient for independent prototype creation. • Experience with n8n, Make, or other automation tools. • Understanding of LLM principles of operation and limitations, model costs, and corporate data security issues.
