🟡About the project: large retail. The project involves demand forecasting for restocking stores and warehouses (time series).
🟡Project tasks:
- Maintain and develop demand forecasting models. Currently, there are two: short-term, for supplying stores, and long-term - for restocking distribution centers (from which stores are restocked);
- Approximately 70% of the time is spent on practical ML development: writing code, conducting research, and experiments;
- The remaining 30% of the time will be spent on communication, preparing presentations, and working with requirements.
🟡Mandatory requirements:
- Experience in Data Science / Machine Learning from 2.5 years;
- Ability to clearly estimate deadlines and take a realistic approach to task setting;
- Pragmatism: readiness to find working solutions, not ideal but unfeasible models. • Responsibility: to complete projects, not abandon them halfway;
- Deep knowledge of Python, SQL, and PySpark. Development of ETL processes for processing large data (reading, transformation, aggregation, writing). Optimization of Spark queries (partitioning, caching, working with broadcast variables);
- Knowledge of main ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch);
- Experience working with data: processing, analysis, feature engineering;
- Sociability and conflict-freeness – ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
🟡Additional requirements:
- Experience in production development (not just research);
- Understanding how business processes work, not just within Jupyter Notebook;
- Ability to deploy ML models in PySpark: using Spark MLlib for distributed training, working with PySpark Pandas UDFs for efficient application of ML models to large data.
