Data Scientist
Vacancy: Data-Scientist
Compensation: 2000 RUB/hour
Format: full-time employment, remote within Russia
The team is currently looking for a Data Scientist for one of our clients' products in the aviation sector, focusing on forecasting demand for air tickets and optimizing flight occupancy considering forecasts, available capacities, and other business constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and evolve demand forecasting models from scratch, configure their adaptability;
- Test various methods in data preparation (feature engineering) and modeling, set up experiments, select and justify the best solutions;
- Monitor metrics, identify outliers and anomalies. Develop model monitoring tools and automate algorithm testing;
- Bring algorithms to production in collaboration with engineers.
Competencies:
- Experience with time series;
- Experience with the classic machine learning stack (classification, regression, clustering);
- Deep knowledge of ML metrics and experience in selecting optimal metrics based on the business metric for acceptance of results;
- Independence and organization – the candidate is capable of independently proposing solutions to problems based on business requirements and implementing these ideas (realizing them in code);
- Teamwork experience;
- Deep knowledge of mathematical statistics and probability theory;
- Experience in data analysis in Python and SQL, confident command of ML libraries (sklearn, pandas, numpy, boosting, etc.);
- Understanding of the principles of machine learning algorithms and their successful application in business tasks;
- Ability to interpret results in business terms;
- Experience leading long-term DS projects with a high level of uncertainty from idea to production.
Plus points:
- Experience in solving demand forecasting and pricing tasks;
- Experience in consulting or outstaffing;
- Experience in task decomposition (Terms of Reference from business -> translated into clear DS tasks for analytics, development, and testing/acceptance).
