We are looking for an experienced Go Backend Developer to join the advertising platform team, who will be responsible for the development of the advertising platform backend at X5 Media. Currently, the platform has access to an audience of 24 million people and combines more than 15 online and offline channels. From mobile apps to outdoor advertising, all our tools help retailers and manufacturers increase sales.

Tired of transferring JSONs and building yet another CRUD API with no hope for an interesting task in the coming year? We have an excellent opportunity for you – to develop an advertising platform for online and offline advertising in the largest retail company in Russia. You will develop services that are responsible for milliseconds and hold hundreds of gigabytes of data in memory, are always available and survive data center outages, adapt existing cutting-edge technologies, and develop your own.

What you will be doing:

• Developing an advertising platform for online and offline advertising
• Developing a transport system for statistics
• Designing and developing microservices in Go
• Solving algorithmic and optimization problems in high-load services
• Writing efficient, readable, and maintainable code, covering it with tests
• Participating in architecture development

Technical stack: Go, In-house Cloud, Kubernetes, Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Docker, Git

We expect:

• Extensive development experience of 6+ years (of which at least 3 years in Go)
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Experience in developing high-load web services with SLA 99.95%+
• Deep knowledge and experience with at least one DBMS: (PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse)
• Understanding of the basic principles of building distributed data storage and processing systems
• Experience in developing Cloud Native services
• Good knowledge of microservice architecture design principles and practical experience in their application
• Good knowledge of the internal workings of Linux
• Experience in profiling, optimizing Go programs, and resolving complex technical issues
• Willingness to work by the principle: “You build it, you run it”

Will be a plus:

• Knowledge and programming skills in C/C++, Rust
• Experience in implementing effective service monitoring
• Experience with incident escalation automation tools
