We are looking for an Asterisk / VoIP Engineer to support and develop our own IP telephony infrastructure.
The specialist will work with Asterisk, SIP infrastructure, call routing, telephony integration with backend systems, monitoring, and security.
Responsibilities
- Support and develop IP telephony based on Asterisk.
- Configure and optimize dialplan, SIP trunks, SIP agents, and call routing.
- Develop integration of backend applications with Asterisk via ARI / AMI.
- Diagnose SIP traffic and call quality issues.
- Ensure telephony security and fault tolerance.
- Configure firewall, fail2ban, protection against brute-force and SIP attacks.
- Configure infrastructure monitoring and promptly respond to incidents.
- Work with storage, rotation, and access to call recordings and CDR.
- Administer related infrastructure: Linux, MariaDB/MySQL, Redis, Nginx, Samba, cron.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation on configurations and workflows.
What we expect
- From 3 years of commercial experience working with Asterisk.
- Solid understanding of SIP and the principles of VoIP infrastructure operation.
- Experience in diagnosing typical problems: NAT traversal, codecs, SIP registration, call quality.
- Practical experience with ARI / AMI.
- Solid Linux administration skills.
- Basic experience with MariaDB / MySQL.
- Experience with Redis.
- Understanding of Nginx configuration as a reverse proxy.
- Knowledge of network security principles: firewall, fail2ban, protection against brute-force and DDoS attacks.
- Experience with monitoring systems: Grafana, Prometheus, or similar.
- Independence, responsibility, and a proactive approach to work.
Will be a plus
- Experience with Heplify, HEP, Homer, or other SIP traffic analysis tools.
- Experience developing in Node.js and integrating backend services with Asterisk / ARI.
- Experience supporting high-load VoIP infrastructure.
