About the Role
Forbes is seeking Social Video Producers/Editors with a proven track record of creating original, platform-specific content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other channels.

Work Schedule: Full-time, in-office in Jersey City (5 days a week) or on location at events.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Create, edit, and deliver high-quality social content in high volume (daily) with a focus on short-form video for Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, Bluesky.
- Produce content native to each platform: scriptwriting, shooting, editing, publishing (as needed), and crafting engaging captions.
Technical Work
- Perform audio mixing for all your work.
- Conduct color correction according to the Video Creative Director's specifications.
- Deliver drafts and final versions on time, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
Standards and Quality
- Uphold the journalistic and brand standards of Forbes Media.
- Maintain the quality, style, and aesthetic standards set by the Video Creative Director.
- Adhere to all media asset management standards established by the Head of Video.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the video department to adapt Forbes' traditional video content for social media or create parallel versions.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director, Senior Producers, Producers, Directors, Editors, Motion Designer, and Animator.
Content Types
Create content for various verticals:
- Editorial content (including sponsored editorial)
- Events and summits
- BrandVoice and paid programs
- Third-party partnerships
- Streaming, TV, and film
- Internal communications
Social Strategy
- Participate in pre-production and shoots to create social video tied to key Forbes rankings, covers, and editorial moments.
- Produce content for programming needs as defined by the Director of Social Strategy and Programming and the Social Strategy team.
- Execute high-level social strategy across Meta platforms, Instagram, TikTok, X, and Bluesky.
- Support internal campaigns and initiatives (newsletters, events) under the guidance of the Head of Video or Director of Social Strategy.
Ideal Candidate
Platform Expertise
- Expert understanding of Meta platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Threads), TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and Bluesky.
- Deep knowledge of algorithms, emerging features, and best practices for maximum organic reach and community engagement.
- Stay current with trends: sounds, memes, challenges, and formats. Ability to quickly conceptualize and execute content that keeps the brand at the forefront of social conversations.
Experience
- 2+ years of video editing experience in a digital publication, production company, agency, or brand.
Technical Skills
- High proficiency and speed in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and Figma.
- Experience with Jitter is a plus.
- Experience with Opus, Wochit, CapCut, and other browser-based or mobile editing tools.
Additional Skills
- Strong voice-over recording, scriptwriting, storytelling, and story editing skills.

Terms and Important Details
- Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year (provided in good faith, subject to adjustment based on experience, knowledge, and skills).
- Work Format: Full-time, in-office in Jersey City (5 days a week). Travel to events may be required.
