We are breaking the product into streams and are now gathering analytics and ML under one owner.
All mobile advertising relies on one gap: revenue from an acquired user comes within a year, through subscriptions and renewals, but the decision on whether to continue spending on a channel needs to be made within a few days. This gap is closed by LTV prediction — and the amount the app can afford to spend on growth directly depends on the accuracy of the forecast.
We have more data for this than almost anyone else on the market: we see thousands of apps simultaneously, not just one. This means we can predict more accurately than anyone. We are not predicting now, and this is the task for this role.
The direction is being built from scratch: analytics, prediction, and A/B tests are converging under one owner for the first time. You get a blank slate in decisions on top of a product that is already generating revenue for twenty thousand apps.
➡️ What you will do:
— Define what we consider a model's quality — metric, horizon, baseline, calibration — and bring the prediction to this level
— Take ownership of paywall A/B tests and reconcile them with predictions: a test measures short-term effects, but rollout should be based on long-term revenue
— Boost analytics: identify bottlenecks — in data, queries, or the interface
— Decide the fate of accumulated ML developments: what to bring to production, what to close
— Lead a team of two ML engineers
➡️ Who we are looking for:
— Classic ML and mathematical statistics at the level of a substantive dispute about metrics and horizons, not retelling others' conclusions
— SQL and Python — you will retrieve and verify the numbers yourself
— Ability to take a broad direction and achieve results without task assignments
— Product experience is a plus, but not a requirement
📌 Bonus points for: subscriptions, mobile or fintech (LTV, churn, cohort economics); experimental design: power, MDE, multiple comparisons; ClickHouse; Olympiads, Kaggle, public projects.
