Hi! We are GB Agency recruitment agency, and we are currently looking for a Business Analyst for a B2B fintech company.
About the Company
The company is an international B2B fintech firm: it finances small and medium-sized businesses and is actively expanding into new markets. With growth, the current accounting scheme on a low-code platform has become insufficient for several legal entities, currencies, and jurisdictions. The company is building a new accounting and reconciliation system. Your task is to understand the current processes, describe the target model, and prepare a build vs. buy solution for the CPO/COO.
Conditions
- Salary up to $4,000 per month.
- Remote work. Priority locations – CIS, South Asia, and Eastern Europe. It is important to overlap working hours with the team (UTC+4).
- Project at the start: you will be laying the foundation for the target accounting model, not just refining isolated rules.
- Real influence on the architectural solution for several quarters ahead — from research to migration.
- Complex and interesting domain: credit products, double-entry bookkeeping, IFRS 9 / ECL, multiple jurisdictions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in business or system analysis within fintech, a payment company, or a credit organization with a focus on accounting, bookkeeping, or reconciliation processes.
- Deep understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and credit cycle events: issuance, accruals, payment distribution, commissions, extensions, provisioning, write-offs, returns.
- Practical experience in analyzing discrepancies between sub-ledger and GL.
- Skills in identifying and documenting requirements: BPMN, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria.
- SQL and Excel/Google Sheets proficiency for independent analysis and balance reconciliation.
- Experience with ERP and accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Odoo, 1C, or similar) and understanding of event-driven approach at a level sufficient for dialogue with engineers.
- Willingness to work in an uncertain environment and to independently structure tasks — you will be writing the technical specifications here.
Will be a plus
- Experience with credit products for businesses: installments, factoring, asset-backed financing.
- Experience with regulatory and accounting requirements of different countries.
- Experience in describing provisioning requirements for IFRS 9 / ECL.
- Experience in selecting and implementing vendor solutions (vendor selection, RFP).
- Experience working with the finance department within an audit cycle.
- Finance or accounting degree, ACCA / CPA certification.
Responsibilities
- Describe current processes (AS-IS): how balances, accruals, commissions, and adjustments flow through the operational system to accounting and where reconciliation fails.
- Prepare a comparison of build vs. buy options (functionality, total cost of ownership, timelines, compliance risks) and defend conclusions to the CPO/COO.
- Describe the target model (TO-BE): requirements for the chart of accounts and how each business event is reflected with journal entries, for each product and jurisdiction.
- Formulate requirements for automatic sub-ledger and GL reconciliation and for tracing balances back to the original event, support phased migration without operational interruption.
- Act as a liaison between finance, risk management, and engineering: translate business logic into user stories, scenarios, and test cases.
