Vacancy: Head of Legal
Remote · High-risk
We are looking for a Head of Legal in the largest international group of companies in the field of social dating and online communication (high-risk, gray zone) to rebuild the legal team from a service-oriented one to a business-partnering one with metrics and KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks (contracts, IP, labor, litigation)
- Ensuring compliance in all jurisdictions of the holding
- Protecting intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets)
- Opening new legal entities with minimal legal risks
- Controlling financial reporting, external audits, compliance with regulations
- Managing a team of 10 people (including dismissal of low performers)
- Implementing KPIs for the legal function (mitigated risks, profit from process speed)
- Working with class actions in the USA and Europe (FATCA, sanctions)
Requirements
- Experience as CLO / VP Legal in international companies for at least 5 years
- Languages: fluent Russian and English C1+
- Deep knowledge of commercial, contract, labor law and IP
- Knowledge of industry regulations and laws (compliance, risk mitigation)
- Management of litigation and work with external lawyers
- Skills in identifying legal risks, developing strategies and preventive measures
- Technical literacy: ERP, financial software, data analysis tools
- Experience working with high-risk / gray zone businesses
- Experience with US / European markets, class actions, FATCA, sanctions
- Data-driven: digitization of the legal function's performance results
- High autonomy, proactivity
- Located outside of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus
