Infrastructure is the foundation of all Yandex services, including Yandex Cloud. Our team is responsible for traffic transmission between tens of thousands of servers, and the results of our work are used by all of the company's services.

Every year, we face large-scale tasks related to the growth of our network and server hardware fleet. That's precisely why we strive to make all aspects of the lifecycle efficient: equipment cost, commissioning and maintenance, as well as to unify methods and interaction interfaces.

Yandex is one of the pioneers in using open NOS SONiC switches based on Linux and in developing applications for their operation. We closely integrate with other cloud and infrastructure services: Yandex's global network, Yandex Cloud's virtual network, server operations, and service teams.

What tasks await you

• Explore new hardware solutions in the industry
• Adapt and develop SONiC
• Write agent applications to run on network equipment

We expect you to

• Be proficient in C++ and have written code in Python, Bash
• Know the basics of computer networks
• Know how modern switches are structured, SAI, and are not afraid to search for needed information in chip shells (bcmsh, ivmsh)
• Be ready to dive into the specifics of the domain area

Will be a plus

• Familiarity with the SONiC codebase
• Have used Docker and Redis in your work
• Have a good understanding of modern chips, and Broadcom Theory of Operations BCM is your favorite book series
