Head of Legal/General Counsel

Must be located in the EU or willing to relocate. 💳 About the company We are an international fintech platform in the field of cryptocurrency and fiat payments, digital assets, and payment infrastructure. We are looking for a Head of Legal who will provide legal support for the business and help scale products, payment infrastructure, and licensing base. 🔹 The ecosystem includes: 🔵 B2C: wallets, cards, and IBANs for individuals. 🔵 B2B: wallets, cards, and IBANs for businesses. 🔵 PSP: proprietary payment gateway, European payment methods, and development of the India direction. 🔵 Regulated infrastructure: active licenses and geographic expansion. 🔹 Main tasks: 🔹 Legal support for B2C, B2B products, and PSP. 🔹 Preparation and negotiation of agreements with merchants, PSPs, acquirers, banks, and EMI/PI providers. 🔹 Analysis of payment chains, fund flows, and responsibility distribution. 🔹 Support for crypto/fiat operations, digital assets, and cryptocurrency providers. 🔹 Participation in licensing and preparation of legal models for entering new markets. 🔹 Work with PSD2, MiCA/CASP, and other applicable regulatory requirements. 🔹 Legal support for high-risk merchants and payment providers. 🔹 Interaction with Compliance, Finance, Product, and Operations. 🔹 Development of the legal function and risk management system. 🔹 Our expectations: 🔹 Practical experience within FinTech, Payments, PSP, or a payment company. 🔹 Experience working independently with agreements of PSPs, acquirers, banks, and merchants. 🔹 Understanding of payment infrastructure, fund flows, and settlement models. 🔹 Practical experience with crypto/fiat payments or digital assets. 🔹 Experience in licensing, regulatory requirements, or interaction with regulators. 🔹 Understanding of AML/KYC, sanctions requirements, and interaction with Compliance. 🔹 Experience with high-risk merchants will be an advantage. 🔹 Independence, strong analytical skills, and a focus on business results. 🔹 Team management experience and building a Legal function will be an advantage. 🔹 Fluent English and experience in an international environment. ⭐ Will be an advantage: experience with EMI/PI/CASP, cards, IBAN, wallets, and payment gateways in multiple jurisdictions.
