Architect / CTO

Bitbanker — a crypto-fintech platform: exchange, deposits, loans, transfers, investment products. We operate in Russia, Kyrgyzstan (VASP license), and the UAE.

We are looking for a strong technical leader who will take charge of the core development loop: architecture, code quality, and predictable delivery cycles. We currently have about 50 developers, with two main stacks — Python and TypeScript. Two large platforms and a portfolio of products in fintech and crypto.

What you will do

• Maintain platform architecture: prevent systems from drifting apart, synchronize stacks (Python / TS), ensure stable integrations and service connectivity.

• Build SDLC and delivery process: from task assignment to production deployment without getting stuck in the "almost ready" status.

• Implement DevOps/SRE practices: unified environments, monitoring and observability, incident response protocols, and disaster recovery (DR) scenarios.

• Prepare products for due diligence: architectural documentation, dependency audits, open-source license control, full reproducibility of builds and delivery.

• Collaborate with CISO: implement mandatory security requirements; adhere to the principle where critical risks block releases.

• Manage engineering metrics: track release predictability, lead time, failure rate of deployments, defect return rate, and monitoring coverage of critical systems.

• Review key decisions and code: dive into complex nodes where the cost of error is critical.

• Develop the team and reduce technical debt: assist team leads with standards, refactoring prioritization, and code base cleanliness.

• Be the CIO's right hand on technical matters: soberly assess the feasibility of business tasks, highlight risks, and calculate the technical cost of solutions.

Who we are looking for

• Experience: 8+ years in development, with several years in roles such as Architect, Head of Engineering, or CTO in engineering teams of 20-30 people.

• Stack: solid production experience with Python and TypeScript (one stack in depth, the other at a level of confident code review and architectural assessment).

• Fintech / Crypto: understanding of payment specifics, wallets, exchange flows, KYC, high-load, and specialized security.

• AI-first mindset: an active proponent of AI tools; ready to integrate AI into engineering processes for a significant increase in speed, quality, and efficiency.

• Hands-on and end-to-end responsibility: willingness to personally complete the entire work cycle for a task if needed — from analytics and basic design to development and testing.

• Systemic thinking and pragmatism: ability to build processes (git-flow, CI/CD, release management), justify decisions with data, and speak simply about complex topics.

• Operational engagement: focus on practical results, not just drawing diagrams in Miro.

Will be a plus

• Practical experience in platform packaging and successfully passing technical due diligence before M&A or investment deals.

• Deep expertise in high-load optimization, compliance, and security of financial services.

• Experience in end-to-end architectural coordination, where one engineering team simultaneously supports multiple independent products.
