Java Developer for the "Apartments" Theme

Search is one of the company's largest and most technological products. Every day it helps tens of millions of people find answers to complex questions, solve everyday tasks, and make informed decisions.

We are building a universal real estate search and purchase service within Search, based on respect, expertise, and a drive to exceed expectations, where everyone can find their new home quickly, conveniently, and safely.

Most of our services are written in Java 21, some are in Scala, and they live in a monorepository under Bazel. For interacting with clients, we mainly use REST and GraphQL, and for inter-service communication - gRPC/Kafka. Data is stored in Apache Lucene, PostgreSQL, MySQL, YDB, YT, ClickHouse, and others. You may also encounter Temporal, Grafana, Sentry, and more.

Development of Product Solutions You will design scalable and fault-tolerant services that operate under load and handle large volumes of data.

Influence on the Technical Development of the Project You will participate in shaping the architecture, choosing technologies, and developing engineering practices within the team.

We expect that you

• Have developed in Java or another object-oriented programming language
• Have created web applications and have a good understanding of microservice architecture
• Enjoy making users' lives easier with your code
• Approach your work responsibly and are attentive to details
• Know how to test your code and strive for high stability
• Have excellent command of classical algorithms and data structures
• Understand the principles of CI/CD and have experience configuring such processes
• Are ready to work in a multi-stack team and are open to learning new technologies

Will be a plus

• Have worked with distributed systems and big data
• Have used relational DBMS, key-value stores
• Have interacted with Kafka or other message brokers
• Have worked with HDFS, Spark, YTsaurus, or other MapReduce systems
• Have excellent knowledge of Java SE 8+ (preferably 17–21)
• Understand the basic principles of network operation
