Java Developer for Market's Advertising Platform

Yandex Market is one of the largest marketplaces. The platform features tens of millions of product items, and the number of active buyers has already reached 15 million.

We are looking for a Java developer to join the advertising platform team, which develops tools for promoting goods on Market, as well as beyond it — in Lavka, Go, and Yandex Eda. The results of our work can always be seen and measured quantitatively in the form of real profit.

Our main directions

• Boost — we promote sellers' products on Market and charge money for sales or impressions. It is necessary to implement the processing of hundreds of millions of product items to transfer them to the next master systems and process completed orders.
• Display advertising — banners, push notifications, and a number of other tools that allow promoting brands.
• Analytics — providing sellers and advertisers with tools to analyze their sales and the effectiveness of promotion tools, with the aim of evaluating their costs and finding ways to improve their position on Market.
• AI assistant for sellers and advertisers

What tasks await you

Development and support of promotion and analytics tools You will actively develop the current system together with the product manager: participate in planning and discussing projects, technically work out and decompose tasks, develop new features, and improve existing ones.

Processing large volumes of data You will need to process hundreds of millions of records about impressions, clicks, products, orders, and users in real-time mode and, based on the obtained data, build analytics systems, advertising promotion, and user mailing systems.

Technical tasks You will solve performance tasks for a high-load service and processing a large volume of data, monitor the service's operability and eliminate technical debt, build a unified approach to solving problems at the entire Market level.

We expect that you

• Have at least two years of experience in commercial development on Java or Kotlin
• Know how to test your code and understand someone else's
• Are familiar with various databases and understand their essence and principles of operation
• Can competently design the technical component of a system, decompose a task, and argue your decision
• Are aware of the need to monitor the service's operability and understand how to organize it
• Are ready to actively get acquainted with new technologies and understand them
• Are able to work in a team and actively propose your ideas and solutions
