Data Engineer

Remote | up to 320 thousand RUB net

The company Centicore is looking for a Data Engineer for one of the largest Russian banks.

Location: Remote within Russia (preferably within a +-2 hour time zone difference from Moscow)

Salary Range: up to 320 thousand net

Description:

We are looking for a Data Engineer to work on tasks related to processing large volumes of data, preparing regulatory and accounting reports, as well as integrating data into the corporate data warehouse (DWH). Projects include interacting with business customers to formalize reporting requirements and developing ETL processes using complex SQL queries.

Expertise:

• Advanced SQL proficiency: experience writing complex queries (joins, subqueries, CTEs), confident use of analytical (window) functions.
• Experience optimizing queries (profiling, analyzing execution plans) for working with big data.
• Knowledge of at least one DBMS at an advanced level: Oracle (PL/SQL) or Greenplum / PostgreSQL.
• Understanding the fundamentals of accounting and reporting (transactions, balances, entries, balance sheet).
• Ability to translate business requirements from financial services into technical specifications for development.
• Experience developing functional specifications (FSD) and user documentation.
• Work with version control systems and task trackers (Jira, Confluence).
• Confident proficiency in Excel (as a data analysis tool and for verifying results).
• Understanding XML structure and experience working with it (reading, parsing, generation).
• Understanding of corporate data warehouse architecture (data modeling, layers: ODS, CDM, DM).
• Understanding of ETL principles and data flows.
• Knowledge of types and methods of testing (functional, regression, data comparison).
• Ability to create test cases to verify the correctness of calculations and data exports.

Will be a plus:

• Experience with Greenplum / PostgreSQL.
• Experience preparing reports according to standards (RAS, IFRS) or for regulators (Central Bank, Federal Tax Service).
• Basic knowledge of Python or another language for scripting data processing.
