DS Engineer for the Vertical Search Team
About the Team
On Avito, you can buy and sell almost everything - apartments, items in bulk, a mini-tractor, and a wide selection of 'husbands for an hour.' Search scenarios in different categories have their own logic, meeting the needs of users. For the vertical team responsible for search in the Jobs&Services categories, we are looking for motivated colleagues at the middle level who can improve the experience of buyers and sellers in these categories. You will be responsible for implementing the full cycle of ML model development - from data analysis and insight discovery to testing a huge number of hypotheses and writing Python microservices for launching experiments in production with the most effective approaches in the field of search and recommendations.
You will be responsible for:
- Customization of ranking models (target, ranking factors, mixing);
- Personalization of search results;
- Diversification of results and upselling;
- Search by companies and service sellers and its integration into the main search results;
- Predicting deals and incorporating user feedback.
We expect you to:
- Be proficient in classical ML and know how to analyze data;
- Have experience in Python development and understand the basics of parallel programming;
- Understand that DS is not just about training models.
It will be great if you:
- Write in Go or any other strictly typed language;
- Know how to work with large volumes of data;
- Have experience implementing search ranking or recommendations, as well as experience deploying developments into production;
- Have used tools for managing experiments: Weights & Biases, MLflow, DVC, etc.
