About the company and team
We are Sovcombank Technologies. We create user-friendly solutions for real users (employees and clients) of a large federal commercial bank.
One of our key areas is the development of internal corporate services for automating, optimizing, and increasing the efficiency of processes within the bank and its subsidiaries.
Main stack: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Kafka/RabbitMQ, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes.
We work with distributed monolithic and microservice architectures and cover the full development cycle: from design to production and support.
We are currently looking for a Middle Python Backend Developer.

What you will be doing:
- Developing and optimizing web applications for working with auto manufacturers and dealerships;
- Refactoring and developing existing functionality;
- Documenting architectural solutions and developed applications;
- Participating in grooming and estimating task efforts;
- Participating in the elaboration of solution architectures;
- Supporting and developing systems in industrial operation.
Candidate expectations
- At least 1.5 years of commercial development experience with Python;
- Solid knowledge of Python (asyncio, typing, error handling and context managers (contextlib), logging);
- Experience developing with FastAPI and Django/DRF (or similar);
- Experience in designing and developing REST APIs;
- Understanding of microservice architecture principles;
- Experience with PostgreSQL (transactions, ACID, indexes, query optimization);
- Experience with Redis, message brokers (Kafka and/or RabbitMQ);
- Containerization experience (Docker), CI/CD setup (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar);
- Understanding of logging and monitoring practices (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar);
- Basic understanding of application security issues (authentication, authorization, data protection);
- Confident work with Git;
- Experience writing unit and integration tests (pytest or similar);
- English at the level of reading technical documentation.
Welcomed:
- Experience in web service development;
- Application deployment experience (Kubernetes);
- Experience with git-flow;
- TDD/BDD practices;
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) for development and finding technical solutions;
- Understanding of best practices for using AI in development: validation and critical evaluation of generated code, using AI to accelerate development without compromising quality and security.
