Chief Network Administrator / Senior Network Engineer — VPN

We are a large VPN service with 250,000+ active users in the Russian Federation. We are looking for a Senior specialist for the role of Chief Network Administrator who will take on a key part of the project's network and VPN infrastructure.

Salary: 350,000–1,000,000 RUB net — the final amount depends on the level, experience, and competencies. Format: fully remote, full-time. Employment: main job only — no parallel work or study.

Who we are looking for We need more than just a strong network engineer. We are looking for someone who has already worked in a large VPN service and knows this industry from the inside. A specialist who is deeply immersed in what is happening in the market: follows changes in blocking and network restrictions, understands modern traffic filtering methods, knows current VPN technologies, and constantly tests new infrastructure solutions. It is important to have a good understanding of the hosting and data center market, comprehend the specifics of different providers, and be able to build a scalable and fault-tolerant infrastructure for hundreds of thousands of users.

What we expect Senior-level expertise in networks: TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, TLS/HTTPS, routing, NAT; serious practical experience with VPN, tunneling, and Xray; experience specifically with large VPN projects; deep understanding of DPI, traffic filtering, blocking, and reasons for connection degradation; strong Linux and network diagnostics skills; experience with dedicated servers, VPS/VDS, CDN, data centers, and hosting providers; practical experience with colocation of own equipment will be a plus; ability to design a fault-tolerant infrastructure capable of withstanding failures and changes in network restrictions without constant manual intervention; ability to quickly investigate network changes, conduct experiments, find root causes of problems, and implement solutions; constant immersion in the VPN industry and understanding of what is happening in it right now. We do not need someone who has raised a VPN according to instructions at some point. We are looking for a specialist for whom VPN infrastructure and networks are their primary professional specialization.
