2GIS maps are some of the most beautiful, detailed, and accurate on the market. Every day, they help millions of people navigate the city: plan a route, find a cafe or pharmacy, choose carsharing, check traffic jams and public transport movement, discover new places while traveling, find out what friends are up to, or simply admire immersive 3D models, animated water, and drawbridges.
And all of this is thanks to the maps.
Map design is a unique field at the intersection of design, data, and engineering. Both artistic taste and precision are important here: changing line thickness by 0.15 px can impair object readability, and shifting a layer's display by half a zoom level can significantly impact sales.
We are looking for an experienced map designer to join the Map product development team. Your vision of beauty is extremely important to us. Experience with cartography and a technical background would also be beneficial.
What you'll be doing?
- Transforming map data into a clear, user-friendly, and beautiful map in the final product.
- Creating and maintaining styles: in a graphics editor and in code.
- Developing existing and creating new layers for different map usage scenarios: navigation, search, tourism, and others.
- Close collaboration with other designers, product managers, developers, QA, and analysts.
What's important to us?
- 2+ years of experience.
- Experience with cartographic tools and data.
- Understanding of UX/UI principles for map scenarios.
- Product vision.
- Ability to deeply elaborate on various map usage scenarios and user habits.
- Proficiency in design tools: Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and others.
- Attention to detail, meticulousness, and perseverance.
- Readiness to work in a multitasking environment: ability to not only elaborate on large-scale scenarios but also to quickly resolve small and operational tasks.
Will be a plus:
- Experience in map design.
- Experience with map editors: Mapbox Studio, 2GIS map editor, or others.
- Experience with GIS systems: QGIS, ArcGIS.
- Experience in designing styles and layers for different tasks and scenarios.
- Development experience.
- Ability to write styles in code: JSON, DSL, or other methods — or readiness to quickly learn.
- Experience using AI tools.
- A well-formed portfolio with relevant works.
