DataBase administrator
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deployment, maintenance, and optimization of MongoDB, PostgreSQL Partroni, and MySQL Galera clusters.
- Performance optimization: analysis of slow queries, profiling, optimization of indexes, and resource consumption.
- User and role management, configuration of authentication and authorization.
- Collaboration with the development team: data schema design, modeling recommendations, query reviews.
- Configuration, monitoring, updating, ensuring fault tolerance and security.
- Backup and recovery (mongodump/mongorestore, snapshots), DR procedure testing.
- Automation of routine tasks (Ansible, bash/python scripts).
You will definitely succeed if:
- You have strong Linux administration skills.
- You have at least 3 years of experience administering MongoDB in a production environment.
- You have experience administering DBMS (not just MongoDB).
- You understand MongoDB architecture: replication, replica sets, sharding.
- You have optimization skills: creating and tuning indexes, working with slow queries, resource management.
- You have automation experience (Ansible).
A strong advantage will be:
- Understanding of PCI/DSS requirements, audit experience.
- Ability to learn quickly and master new technologies and tools.
- Experience with migrations between MongoDB versions and from other DBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Knowledge and practice of HA and DR (recovery plans, failure testing).
- DBA certificates.
- Understanding the basics of the CAP theorem and its impact on distributed systems.
- Understanding DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).
- Understanding of monitoring and logging principles.
