Senior Golang / TechLead GО (Platform V Synapse Service Mesh)

We are developing Synapse — Sberbank's new integration platform based on Istio (Service Mesh). It is a cloud solution for integrating and migrating services, handling millions of requests.
It consists of high-load components, and many banking services' integrations are built on its foundation.
We are a team that combines experience and deep knowledge with an active position. We work according to Agile, use our own development pipeline. Automated testing and CI/CD are the foundation of our development process. We contribute to the development of the Sberbank ecosystem by creating important integration elements. But we are not limited to it – our products are widely known in the Russian software market.
Responsibilities
- Development of engineering practices in the team, leadership of development management processes
- Participation in the architectural design of components (backend, microservices, cloudnative)
- Development of high-load components of the Synapse product in Golang, including the development of the Istio fork
- Solving complex cases for performance and resource consumption optimization, as well as ensuring reliability and fault tolerance
- Interaction with analysts, testers, and other teams within the production pipeline.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of commercial development experience in Go
- Confident command of the Go language: understanding concurrency, memory management, profiling, best practices
- Experience in developing microservices operating over HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, gRPC, TCP protocols
- Understanding of design patterns and principles of building high-load microservice architecture
- Practical experience with Kubernetes: writing and debugging manifests, working with Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets. Using Helm for application lifecycle management. Understanding the principles of Pod, NetworkPolicy, Ingress
- Experience with Istio or other service meshes (Linkerd, Consul Connect): Configuring VirtualService, DestinationRule, Gateway, Sidecar, AuthorizationPolicy. Understanding the principles of traffic shifting, canary releases, mTLS, fault injection
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins, TeamCity, or equivalents
- Experience in conducting code reviews, writing readable and maintainable code
- Skills in working with generative AI models; experience in creating AI agents and using them in work will be an advantage.
