Senior DevOps Engineer

About the team

The DC Ops team provides infrastructure platform services to internal customers (developers, project managers, analysts, etc.), maintaining thousands of servers distributed across several data centers, hundreds of LXC containers, and virtual machines.

The team's goals are to automate routine tasks, keep the infrastructure up-to-date (IAC), eliminate legacy systems, and implement new technologies. The DC Ops team is responsible for the Proxmox, Linux (Debian), and nginx stack, and also works with other technologies: Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, etc.

You will be responsible for:

• Operating various servers in a Linux environment (deployment, troubleshooting and problem-solving, routine automation);

• Operating various Linux services: Proxmox VE, Proxmox Backup Server, nginx, Apache, php-fpm;

• Working with infrastructure using the Infrastructure as Code paradigm;

• Investigating performance issues related to hardware and OS operation;

• Managing infrastructure operation incidents;

• Collaborating with technical teams (network engineers, DevOps, etc.);

• Backup implementation, high availability, DRP;

• Monitoring service operation and availability.

We expect you to:

• Have experience administering GNU/Linux Debian-based systems;

• Have experience with Kubernetes (working with Helm charts, components, deployment abstractions);

• Have experience with CI/CD (writing pipelines in GitLab);

• Have some experience administering PostgreSQL and MySQL DBMS;

• Have experience with configuration management systems (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt);

• Understand how load balancers and web servers work (Apache, nginx, HAProxy);

• Have a basic understanding of networking and network technologies;

• Have an idea of how to build a high-performance and fault-tolerant infrastructure solution and what components it consists of;

• Know the main backup systems;

• Be able to work with monitoring: Zabbix, Graphite, ELK, Grafana, build performance graphs, configure alerting;

• Preferably have a higher technical education in IT.
