QA Engineer for the "Distribution Technologies" Team (Yandex Plus)

We at Yandex Plus are developing the subscription sign-up platform used by millions of people every day.

The "Distribution Technologies" team builds the common technological foundation so that product teams can launch new scenarios and business models faster without compromising quality. We work at the intersection of web, iOS, Android, Smart TV, and tvOS platforms, testing what directly impacts the product's revenue: the purchase, renewal, and modification of Plus subscriptions. Our work involves both manual and automated testing, wide coverage, and real impact on the stability of key scenarios.

Languages: Java, Kotlin, Swift, JS Development Environments: Android Studio, Xcode, VS Code Traffic Analysis Tools: Charles, Proxyman We are looking for a QA Engineer interested in delving into complex platforms, touching multiple platforms at once, and helping to make the Plus subscription reliable and user-friendly.

What tasks await you

Testing the Plus integration into PaySDK (BDUI) This project aims to reduce overhead costs when releasing updates: instead of each time releasing a new SDK version and updating it in all hosts, screen descriptions are delivered from the server via DivKit documents. This allows for making changes to the subscription sign-up interface without releasing an app to the store and significantly speeds up TTM.

Testing "BDUX: Flow Editor" This is an internal admin panel/editor where user flows can be assembled and configured without developer involvement: managing subscription sign-up steps, transition conditions, experiments, and screen variants. The stability of subscription sign-up scenarios and the speed of launching new experiments to production depend on the quality of testing this tool.

We expect that you

• Have experience in testing: understand basic methodologies, types of testing, can formulate hypotheses and verify them
• Can work with bug-tracking systems (Jira, YouTrack, or equivalents): create clear bug reports and see them through to resolution
• Possess skills in test automation: have written autotests or at least tried to automate parts of regression
• Are ready to delve into several platforms at once and are not afraid of switching between tasks

Will be a plus

• Have worked in a cross-functional team (developers, product within one circle)
• Have been involved in automation using XCUITest, Espresso, Rest Assured, or similar tools
• Are interested in or have experience with frontend UI automation on Testplane/WDIO/Selenium
• Understand how subscriptions/billing work or are interested in financial/subscription products
