Testing Engineer for Maps

We test Yandex Maps—a service that will help you find your way to the library at any time of day, figure out the fastest way to get to your favorite theater, and suggest where in St. Petersburg you can get the most delicious raf coffee.

We are looking for a colleague who will help us improve service quality, release new features faster, and care for millions of users.

What tasks await you

Mobile Application Testing You will check the correctness of interfaces and functionality of the mobile application, the soundness of the logic, and integrations with other services (APIs, databases, external services). You will write test documentation, keep it up-to-date, file bugs, and propose improvements.

Participation in Service Development You will participate in all stages of service development—from creating prototypes to production support. You will be involved in planning and estimating tasks for product teams, interact with support, monitor product health in production, run regressions, and track the bug density level of the service.

Scenario Automation We love complex and interesting tasks and try to eliminate routine. Therefore, we actively automate regressions and E2E tests using Kotlin Multiplatform and strive for a stable and balanced testing pyramid.

We expect that you

• Have tested mobile applications (iOS and Android) for at least three years
• Are familiar with backend testing approaches
• Test APIs, can work with logs and understand interactions with databases
• Are proficient with API tools (Postman, Swagger, Charles, Fiddler)
• Understand the basics of network communication and client-server application architecture
• Work with test artifacts and write functional automated tests
• Know how to work with Git
• Are highly responsible and care about delivering high-quality results
• Think product-wise: immerse yourself in the product's business logic, propose improvements, track metrics, and monitor the impact of bugs on users
• Are ready to independently take on tasks and see them through to completion

Will be a plus

• Have set up and optimized QA processes
• Developed test models and assessed their completeness
• Have worked with quality metrics
• Have tested distributed systems or high-load APIs
• Are proficient in SQL or other data query languages
• Have worked in cross-functional product teams
