Android Developer for the Infrastructure Team

Our infrastructure supports hundreds of mobile developers. Every day we run thousands of tests and process tens of thousands of client events per second. We improve the stability and speed of CI, enhance the completeness and quality of click and impression data, achieve 99% E2E success rate, implement cross-service scenarios, and test experiments before launch.

What tasks await you

Scaling E2E Testing You will improve end-to-end automated testing of mobile applications for Android and iOS, working with Appium, XCUITest, and Espresso. You will work on reducing flakiness, implementing auto-skips, speeding up test runs, and developing new approaches to integration tests.

Developing Mobile CI/CD Infrastructure You will develop the mobile part of the CI/CD infrastructure: setting up build processes, optimizing caching and artifact sharing, implementing efficient test sharding and parallelization strategies. The goal is to ensure the stable operation of mobile development pipelines.

Automating Metric Collection You will automate the collection and delivery of client metrics from mobile applications: monitor the correctness of event schemas, data completeness and latency, configure alerts, and ensure prompt delivery of metrics to analytical systems for analysis.

Feature and E2E Scenario Testing You will participate in building and automating end-to-end scenarios that span multiple services, as well as testing new features before they are launched to real users.

Tools and SDKs for Developers You will create convenient tools and SDKs that simplify writing automated tests, speed up local runs, and facilitate diagnosing issues in mobile applications.

Collaborating with Teams You will actively collaborate with mobile teams, analysts, and product managers: help implement best quality practices, develop a culture of automation, and improve development processes.

We expect you to

• Have more than three years of experience in mobile development for Android
• Have worked with test automation tools: Appium, Espresso and/or XCUITest
• Understand how to build stable E2E tests
• Know CI/CD principles and can work with popular CI systems
• Know how to speed up builds and tests
• Understand the architecture of high-load and distributed event delivery systems
• Can read logs/traces
• Are willing to work with mobile platforms and solve infrastructure tasks beyond their scope
• Are capable of making independent decisions and possess a high degree of autonomy

It will be a plus if you

• Are familiar with devices and farms (emulators, simulators, cloud device farms), containerization, and isolated environments for tests
• Have reduced flakiness and implemented auto-skips based on run statistics
• Have basic proficiency in SQL, have worked with analytical systems and data marts
• Have tested and analyzed features as part of A/B experiments
• Have worked with Swift or Kotlin Multiplatform
