Android Developer for Marketplace Infrastructure Team

Our infrastructure supports hundreds of mobile developers. Thousands of tests are launched daily, and the system processes tens of thousands of client events per second. We improve the stability and speed of CI, the completeness and quality of click/view data, bring E2E success rate to 99%, implement cross-service scenarios, and enable testing in experiments before launch.

What tasks await you

Developing and scaling E2E testing of mobile applications You will improve end-to-end automated testing of mobile applications for Android and iOS, working with Appium, XCUITest, and Espresso. You will need to reduce instability (flakiness), implement auto-skips, speed up test runs, and develop new approaches to integration tests.

Developing mobile CI/CD infrastructure Your work will involve developing the mobile part of the CI/CD infrastructure: configuring build processes, optimizing caching and artifact sharing, as well as implementing effective strategies for test sharding and parallelization. We aim to ensure the stable operation of mobile development pipelines.

Automating collection and delivery of client metrics You will automate the collection and delivery of client metrics from mobile applications: monitor the correctness of event schemas, data completeness and delays, configure alerts, and ensure timely delivery of metrics to analytical systems for subsequent analysis.

Participation in cross-service E2E scenarios and testing experimental features You will participate in building and automating end-to-end scenarios covering multiple services, as well as testing new functionalities before they are launched to real users.

Creating tools and SDKs for developers You will create convenient tools and SDKs that simplify writing autotests, speed up local runs, and facilitate problem diagnosis in mobile applications.

Collaboration with mobile development teams, analysts, and product In this role, it is important to actively collaborate with mobile teams, analysts, and product managers: help implement quality best practices, foster a culture of automation, and jointly improve development processes.

We expect you to have

• Over three years of mobile development for Android
• Worked with test automation tools: Appium, Espresso and/or XCUITest, understand how to build stable E2E
• Know CI/CD principles and have experience working with popular CI systems, know how to speed up builds and tests
• Understand how high-load and distributed event delivery systems work, able to read logs/traces
• Ready not only to work with mobile platforms but also to solve infrastructure tasks beyond them
• Able to make independent decisions and have a high degree of autonomy
• Ready to work in the Moscow office 4–5 days a week

Will be a plus

• Familiar with devices/farms (emulators/simulators, cloud device farms), containerization, and isolated test environments.
• Reduced flakiness and implemented auto-skips based on run statistics
• Have basic SQL knowledge, worked with analytical systems and data marts
• Tested and analyzed features within A/B experiments
• Worked with Swift or Kotlin Multiplatform
