PURE is a global dating app committed to bringing honesty and fun into the dating world. We believe that dating is more than just swiping – it's a journey where everyone can discover something special, regardless of their preferences. We're looking for a Legal Advisor, Trust & Safety to sit at the intersection of platform regulation, privacy law, and online safety compliance. You will advise PURE’s Trust & Safety and Product teams on the legal and regulatory obligations that shape how we build and operate safety features for a sex-positive, adults-only dating app.

What will you do?

• Navigate Age Assurance & Verification Law: Monitor and interpret the fast-moving global landscape (including US state laws like Louisiana, Utah, California, and Alabama; France's upcoming requirements; the UK Online Safety Act; and Apple/Google app store frameworks), translating strict deadlines into concrete product and operational requirements.
• Manage Biometric & Privacy Compliance: Oversee privacy compliance as it applies to identity and photo verification, including GDPR, CNIL guidance on biometric retention, and US biometric statutes (BIPA and equivalents), ensuring data minimization and compliant retention schedules for our verification vendors (e.g., Veriff).
• Handle Child Safety Obligations: Oversee our CSAM detection, reporting, and preservation duties (including NCMEC CyberTipline as a registered ESP and EU equivalents), while managing underage account incidents with absolute precision.
• Steer Platform Regulation: Own compliance for global platform laws, including the EU Digital Services Act (transparency reporting, notice and action, statement of reasons), UK OSA duties, and dating-app-specific legislation (e.g., US state laws on background check disclosures, safety notices, and romance scam warnings).
• Oversee Law Enforcement & Government Requests: Define the legal basis for disclosures, cross-border data requests, and preservation orders, providing clear guidance to the moderation team on high-priority escalations.
