The majority of Yandex services are based on recommendation systems. We develop and maintain the common infrastructure for recommendation systems. Our platform allows for rapid service launch and easy expansion and development. Furthermore, we support and develop the recommendation system used in advertising.

What tasks await you

• Maintain and develop the recommendation infrastructure used across various parts of Yandex;
• Modernize and develop the content system, which must be universal and easily adaptable to the needs of different services;
• Handle high-load systems operating 24/7;
• Work at the intersection of infrastructure and ML, implementing ML tools.

We expect you to

• Be ready to develop in C++;
• Know classical algorithms and data structures;
• Understand the multithreading paradigm and be familiar with key algorithms and common problems in this area;
• Understand the key aspects of building fault-tolerant distributed systems;
• Be able to write easily readable code.

It will be a plus if you

• Have created recommendation or other similar services;
• Are familiar with ad selection technologies.
