About Us: 💡The ad-hoc analytics team from X5 Group (Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, Chizhik, etc.) is looking for experienced DS specialists! 🔬Why is it interesting here? More than 29 thousand stores, 50 million customers, petabytes of data - and all this needs to be analyzed. Every day we demonstrate that our supermarkets are actually a digital project, in which Big Data and a Data-Driven approach play a significant role. In the ad-hoc analytics team, we create new ML solutions for the business and refine old ones, conduct research, write interesting articles, speak at conferences, and also run A/B tests offline and online! What will you be doing? 🔭 You will go through a quick onboarding with the support of a team lead. And then, more: • comprehensive research to apply the best tools in the industry; • development of methodologies for evaluating large digital products; • designs and evaluations of non-standard experiments via A/B (our platform handles the usual ones); • code ML solutions that are truly needed by the business and deploy them to production. The tasks are very diverse (ranking in search and recommendations in the mobile app, identifying interchangeable and complementary products, up-lift modeling, forecasting resource needs in stores, etc.); • write interesting articles based on the results of completed tasks and more. You will manage all tasks in close contact with the business stakeholder.

Requirements:

• At least two years of experience in the DS field
• Knowledge of Python
• Knowledge of classic algorithms and data structures
• Knowledge of theoretical and practical advanced machine learning methods;
• Knowledge of SQL - ability to build optimal queries, knowledge of window functions, familiarity with the Hadoop stack will be a plus;
• A/B tests, hypothesis generation and verification (experience with variance reduction, CUPED, linearization, and bucket methods will be a plus)

Will be a plus:

• Will be an advantage: experience with (docker, kubernetes, pyspark, kafka, postgres, airflow)
• Will be an advantage: experience in deploying developed solutions to production
