Product Narrative Director
We are looking for a Product Narrative Director who will shape and develop the narrative direction in new and existing games.
What you'll be doing
- Formulate and develop the narrative vision for new projects, ensuring a holistic player experience: story, characters, tone, pacing, and delivery of narrative content;
- Be responsible for the quality of narrative in live projects and in the development of new games;
- Define the strategic direction of the narrative for actively operating projects;
- Identify growth opportunities for existing projects through storytelling, content beats, and narrative solutions;
- Develop narrative guidelines and ensure a unified voice for the game and its live content;
- Conduct audience research and work with the community to identify themes and motifs that resonate with the target audience;
- Analyze narrative engagement using analytics, UX research, and player surveys, turning insights into improvements;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, produce, and release narrative content;
- Track market trends and competitor solutions in the field of narrative and live events;
- Write and curate key narrative content: dialogues, quests, events, item and feature descriptions, UI texts as needed.
We expect
- 3+ years of experience in narrative design, game writing, or content direction in the game industry;
- A portfolio with released projects (experience in mobile F2P will be an advantage);
- Strong writing and editing skills, ability to work with different voices and tones;
- Ability to connect narrative solutions with product goals, metrics, and technical constraints;
- Capability to create emotionally engaging stories that support game loops and retention;
- Developed communication and presentation skills;
- A genuine interest in games and player experience.
Will be a plus
- Experience with live ops narrative and event storytelling;
- Experience writing scripts for game videos and cinematics;
- Experience managing writers or working with outsourced teams;
- Understanding of the fundamentals of game design;
- Knowledge of localization processes and principles of writing texts for translation;
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate narrative prototyping and iterations.
