We are looking for a Senior Product Manager for one of the key product areas of VK Video — the experience of watching video clips on web and mobile web. This is where the decision is made whether an open video will turn into a meaningful watch, whether the session will continue, and whether the user will want to return to the service. The role's task is to make this experience the best on the market by combining strong UX, recommendations, and new viewing scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Take full product responsibility for the video and clip viewing experience on web and mobile web: form the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the direction, identify key growth points, and lead the team to measurable results.
- Develop the entire user journey from the first meaningful view to continuing the session and returning to content. Improve basic scenarios: viewing page and player, video and author cards, subscriptions, etc. And launch new ones: personal library, mechanics at the intersection of long videos, clips, and VK's social graph, for example, co-watching and discussing with friends.
- Be responsible for key funnel metrics: conversion to meaningful view, session depth, number of videos watched, and user return rate. Decompose metric changes, find their causes, and identify the strongest growth levers.
- Develop UX and recommendations as a unified product system. Together with the recommendation team, formulate hypotheses about user signals, ranking, and interface, conduct experiments, and understand the reasons for the achieved effect.
Requirements
- Strong experience with complex UX or mass B2C products where user experience was one of the main growth drivers.
- Ability to find the causes behind metric changes, combining product analytics, A/B experiments, and qualitative research.
- Understanding of the principles of recommender systems: the role of user signals, ranking, and feedback, as well as how the interface affects recommendation quality. Practical experience in developing recommender or other ML products will be an advantage.
- Ability to form a product strategy, justify priorities, and lead a cross-functional team to results.
- Attention to detail in user experience, but also the ability to separate what is truly important from cosmetic improvements. Not automatically copying competitors' solutions, but an approach with an understanding of what user problem they are solving and whether it can be solved better.
