About the Company

Unicornbook is an AI platform for personalized learning for children in grades 2-4.

We want to change the traditional approach to homework. Children learn the school curriculum through what truly interests them: football, Minecraft, drawing, dancing, robots, and other hobbies. AI helps adapt explanations and tasks to the specific child, so they can better understand the material and complete assignments independently.

Our goal is to make learning clearer and more engaging for children, and to give parents back the time currently spent on daily homework assistance.

We are looking for a Backend Developer to make the server-side stable, fast, and ready for growth.

Responsibilities

1. Backend Development

· Design and develop APIs for the frontend (registration, authorization, progress saving, content generation).

· Work with PostgreSQL (schema design, query writing, migrations).

2. Integration with AI Services

· Configure and connect AI for generating explanations.

· Connect AI for generating illustrations.

· Integrate AI for speech synthesis and voice recognition.

· Configure OCR for recognizing homework from photos.

3. Architecture and Quality

· Design a scalable architecture (so the site doesn't crash with user growth).

· Write clean, documented code with tests.

· Optimize query performance and database operations.

What's important to us

· Your understanding of how a startup works.

· Experience developing with Python.

· Experience working with FastAPI.

· Experience working with PostgreSQL.

· Understanding of REST API.

· Experience working with Git.

· Experience integrating with external APIs (AI services are a big plus).

· Ability to write clean, maintainable code and documentation.
