Technical Writer at Yandex Cloud

Yandex Cloud is a technology platform for creating and developing IT products. Our services provide quick and easy access to modern data processing and storage technologies: virtual machines, managed databases, and help with speech recognition and synthesis.

We are looking for a specialist who will help us talk about services and technologies in an interesting, clear, and technically competent way. You will have to communicate a lot with developers, independently explore pre-release versions of services, write documentation, and edit interface texts.

What tasks await you

Working with documentation Creating and updating truly technical documentation: technology descriptions, step-by-step guides, API references, architectural documents. Building a documentation release cycle. Together with development and marketing teams, devising and describing use cases for cloud services.

Creating effective projects and engaging texts Improving texts in Yandex Cloud interfaces and ensuring a unified terminology is used in documentation and interfaces. Coming up with and implementing projects that will attract new users to Yandex Cloud services. Analyzing content effectiveness using metrics.

We expect you to

• Have already written documentation or other texts about technologies and software products
• Be ready to independently learn technologies and services, delve into details
• Have a broad outlook in the field of information technology
• Want to improve the user experience through the platform's services and interfaces
• Be able to analyze and structure large volumes of information
• Have excellent command of the Russian language and be able to write concise, well-structured, and grammatically correct texts

It will be a plus if you

• Can program, read code, and speak the same language as developers
• Are familiar with containerization and container orchestration systems, primarily Kubernetes
• Have tried working with infrastructure and configuration management tools
• Understand how to write marketing texts (for example, interface copy) and enjoy doing it
• Have worked in a distributed team and with external contractors
• Have English language proficiency not lower than Upper-Intermediate
