Job Name: Geologist
City: Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Nationality: Only for Uzbekistan citizenship. To promote equality and diversity, we have open slots for both female and male candidates.
Job Summary
The Geologist is responsible for studying the earth's subsurface structures and rock formations to identify, evaluate, and characterize oil and gas reservoirs. The role involves geological interpretation, basin analysis, reservoir characterization, well planning support, and integration of geological data to optimize exploration and field development activities. Geologists work closely with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and production teams to reduce subsurface uncertainty and support data-driven decisions throughout the asset lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of sedimentology, structural geology, stratigraphy, petroleum systems, and reservoir characterization.
- Experience with industry software such as Petrel, Kingdom, DecisionSpace, GeoGraphix, or similar geological interpretation tools.
- Knowledge of well log interpretation, seismic interpretation, and geological modeling.
- Ability to integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data for subsurface evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Interpret geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and well data to characterize subsurface formations and reservoirs.
- Develop and maintain geological models to support reservoir evaluation and field development planning.
- Conduct seismic interpretation and structural mapping to identify exploration and development opportunities.
- Analyze depositional environments, stratigraphy, and reservoir architecture to improve subsurface understanding.
- Support well planning by providing geological prognosis, target identification, and drilling recommendations.
- Evaluate reservoir quality, fluid distribution, and geological uncertainty to support resource assessments.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and drilling teams to develop integrated subsurface models.
- Contribute to reserves and resource estimation activities and annual reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities for field optimization, infill drilling, and exploration prospect generation.
