🎁 Conditions: 💰 Rate: 1900 RUB/hour (net, taxes are on us) = ~320+ thousand RUB/month at full load ⏳ Duration: from 2 months with a high probability of extension up to a year 🌍 Format: Full remote (Russia only) 📃 Employment: Sole Proprietor (IP) 👥 Team: You will join a strong team of DevOps and Backend developers (all professionals)

🎯 Project Essence: Optimizing the database core for growing loads (millions of transactions per day). The work will be challenging but very interesting — we will rewrite bottlenecks, configure replication, and work magic on query plans. 📋 What you need to know (essential): • 🐘 Deep knowledge of SQL and writing complex analytical queries • ⚡️ Query optimization (EXPLAIN ANALYZE, statistics, rewriting heavy CTEs) • 🗂 Indexing for HighLoad (BRIN, Partial, Covering indexes are your forte) • 🛠 PL/pgSQL (we write triggers and stored procedures like gods) • 🔒 Working with locks (MVCC, Deadlocks, Lock monitoring) • 📈 Data architecture and schema design for microservices • ☁️ High availability (Patroni, pgBouncer, Replication Slots, cluster management) ➕ Bonus points: • Experience migrating from Oracle/MySQL to PostgreSQL • Knowledge of Greenplum or Citus

🚀 What your future workday looks like: A task arrives: "The query is hanging for 5 seconds, users are complaining" You take EXPLAIN, understand that the problem is in incorrect cardinality estimation You rewrite the query, add the correct composite index The query runs in 50 ms → everyone is happy → you are pleased with yourself 😎
