Developer for the Payment Platform Infrastructure Team

The Payment Platform provides all Yandex services with a universal API for processing payments. When you make a purchase on Market or pay for a ride in Taxi, the payment goes a long way — from the service, through our platform, to one of more than 20 partner processors.

Our platform enables payments in dozens of countries: from Russia and the CIS to South America and Africa. We handle over 25% of all online payments in Russia, which creates enormous loads. Our card data storage, certified according to the PCI DSS standard, is the largest non-bank card storage in Europe. The platform's infrastructure faces very high demands, and its load doubles every year.

Our team helps to meet these challenges. Here's what we do:

• Configure protection of services from DDoS attacks.
• Find bottlenecks in builds and tests, profile applications.
• Improve the Developer Experience for product developers.
• Work on service Observability, automate the creation of dashboards and alerts.
• Develop and maintain tools for deploying and operating applications in cloud infrastructure.
• Replace infrastructure components if they no longer meet new requirements. Develop our own solutions when necessary.

Our technology stack:

• Go — the main programming language for writing infrastructure components and scripts.
• OpenTofu — a tool for infrastructure management, ensuring automation and scalability.
• PostgreSQL, YDB — databases we most frequently maintain, and also use in our own components.
• Yandex Data Streams — a service for managing real-time data streams based on YDB Topics.
• YTsaurus — an open-source platform for distributed storage and processing of big data.

What tasks await you

Writing code You will create tools in Go for automating application deployment, as well as libraries for their dynamic configuration. You will implement new linters and testing tools that will allow the entire team to make code more reliable and faster.

Infrastructure tasks You will configure CI/CD, describe infrastructure as code using OpenTofu, maintain the stability of large systems under high load, configure load balancers and tools for debugging abnormal situations in Production, and optimize application interactions with databases.

We expect you to

• Have developed in any popular object-oriented language for more than three years
• Write in Go or want to switch to it
• Understand the principles of working with Unix systems
• Have worked with relational and non-relational databases
• Are familiar with Kubernetes or other container orchestrators

Will be a plus

• Have worked with payment or billing systems
• Have developed systems according to SOX, PCI DSS, or GOST R 57580 requirements
• Have described infrastructure using Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Salt
